Out bound Calling


Out bound calling or in other words telemarketing is a well known term for every individual today. You may be a household person, a businessman, an employee or an employer, everybody is familiar with these terms i.e. outbound calling or telemarketing. We all have experienced it or used it to our benefits at some point or the other in our lives.  Out bound calling actually refers to the phone calls made by companies or individuals to a specified list of contacts to either promote their company, product or to generate prospective clients and in some cases to create an authentic data base. In sales and marketing this type of calling is very essential and it is required to generate leads, and is used as other necessary step in the sales process.

Unlike the inbound calling where employees are required to handle inquiries related to the company its products, services and after sales services, in outbound calling employees may be required to abide by certain rules and regulations that apply to their job or company profile and type of work they are into. Outbound calling, such as in sales or collection is partially mandated by the state and federal laws and regulations. For instance if a company or an individual who use these calls as a way to build a customer base to promote or sell a product or service are required to remove names from their client list if it is requested by the customer and this has to be followed strictly according to the law. Once it has been requested or asked by the client or a business house the out bound calling has to be stopped immediately and if repeated calls are made in spite of being asked to stop it is considered as harassment and it comes under law.

Client base for the out bound calls are usually purchased from third parties who compile it on the bases of different factors such as homeownership status or income bracket or purchasing pore calculated on the basis of previous history. To enhance the productivity and increase and maximize the sales of the company, out bound calling is preprogrammed into a self automated dialer system in which dialer moves constantly through the list of the customers, dialing the numbers simultaneously routing all answered calls to the employee.

Out bound calling has become an essential part of most of the company’s operations. However, it is very difficult for most of the companies to procure genuine, reliable and competent employs to perform the out bound calls, especially in telemarketing field. Most of the job seekers look forward to get a job for customer service position or other jobs that handle inbound calls, and job seekers who look for a outbound calling job prefer business to business calling rather than business to home calling.

However, outbound calling in the field of lead generation can actually become very lucrative, depending on the nature of the product, market and the company profile. Most of the companies who hire caller offer them proper sales training to make them efficient but in some cases experienced telemarketing professionals are also required.
